The Mutes & Blocks feature allows you to see what users in the app you have blocked or muted.
Muted vs Blocked
Muted: If you a mute a user, this means that their posts will not appear on the Activity Wall. You will still be able to view their posts on their profile page.
Blocked: If you Block a user, you will still be able to view their profile but they will NOT be able to view yours or any of your activity on the app such as (comments, posts, etc.)
How to view Users you have Blocked/Muted
- Click into the side navigation, and select the Settings Tab.
- Inside the settings tab, select the Mutes and Blocks Tab.
- You will now be able to view the users that are Muted and Blocked.
How to un-Block/Mute Users
- Click into the side navigation, and select the Settings Tab.
- Inside the settings tab, select the Mutes and Blocks Tab.
- You will now be able to view the users that are Muted and Blocked. To Unblock or Unmute select the phrase “Unblock/Unmute”
- Once the phrase is selected a pop up notification will appear to confirm the Unblocking/Unmuting of a user.
How to Block a user
- On any users’ post, click on their profile image.
- Once on the users main profile page, select the 3 dots at the top right corner of their header image.
- A drop down menu will appear.
- Select "Block"
- A Confirm Block Pop up will appear: “Confirmation: Are you sure you want to block this user”
- Select cancel to go back. Otherwise, click on “OK”
- The user is now blocked and will unable to see your activity and posts, and you will be unable to see any of their activity and posts.
How to Prevent Someone from Following you
In case there is someone who has followed you but you do not follow them back, you may wonder how to “remove the connection”, as is common on other social media platforms. The “block” function here at Parler fulfills the same function and by blocking them they will no longer be able to see your posts or follow you.
