What is the timeout feature?
The timeout feature is designed to limit certain activities on Parler when users break the Community Guidelines. When in timeout, users can view posts, repost and react to posts, but cannot create posts, reply, or quote posts.
How long will I be in timeout?
The duration of the timeouts are as follows:
If a user receives 20 points <90 days, they get put on timeout.
- 1st timeout - 24hrs
- 2nd timeout - 96hrs
- 3rd timeout - 384hrs
- 4th timeout - 1536hrs
How many points are each violation worth?
- Spam = 2 points
- Threats = 7 points
- Unsolicited Advertisement = 7 points
- Fraud = 7 points
- Doxing = 15 points
- Terrorism = 20 points
How do I appeal a violation?
You’ll be able to appeal by clicking on the navigation bar and finding the section that says “appeals”, where you can write a thoughtful response and rationale for your post or content.
Why did I receive a violation?
When your speech veers away from the spirit of the Community Guidelines, we’ll let you know specifically why and allow you to appeal the decision.
Will my account be banned permanently?
Our goal is to allow as many users as possible to use the Services and we only ban accounts with severe violations of the Community Guidelines and/or repeated abuse.
