Who can send tips on Parler?
Any Parler user can send tips on eligible posts and comments.
Who can receive tips?
Any Parler user who posts content can receive tips, including creators, commentators, and everyday community members.
Can I tip with both USD and OPT?
Yes. You choose the tip type each time you tip.
Where do my USD tips go?
USD tips are processed through Stripe and can be withdrawn to your linked bank account via Stripe Connect.
Where do my OPT tips go?
OPT tips are sent to your ParlerPay wallet and can be withdrawn on-chain.
Are USD and OPT tips combined?
No. USD and OPT balances are tracked and displayed separately.
Is there a minimum withdrawal amount?
Minimums may apply depending on Stripe or ParlerPay requirements. These are shown in your dashboard when applicable.
Can I change the tip type after sending it?
No. Once a tip is sent, it cannot be changed or reversed.
Do tips affect post visibility?
Tipped comments are visually highlighted and may appear more prominently, but tipping does not guarantee placement or distribution.
Are tips refundable?
Tips are generally non-refundable. If you experience an issue, contact Support.
Is tipping available everywhere?
Tipping is rolling out across Parler and may appear progressively depending on account type, platform, or region.
Do I have to pay taxes on tips I receive?
Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and local tax laws.
In general:
- USD tips may be considered taxable income and are typically reported through Stripe based on applicable thresholds and regulations.
- OPT tips are received as digital assets and may also have tax implications depending on how they are received, held, or used.
